JACKSON POLLOCK
Convergence
(physical description)
"A rebellious spirit, Pollock evolved
this approach to painting only ten years before his death. Although he
insisted that he had absolute control, his compositions consisted of what
appeared to be totally unfettered dripping and spilling of paint on to
huge canvases placed on the floor. His work, often called action painting,
elicits a sense of tremendous energy, actually transmitting the action
of paint application to the respondent through a new concept of line and
form."
