The Special Education Department in the UW-Whitewater College of Education prepares professionals to work with persons with special needs ranging in age from birth to high school. Teaching in the field of special education is a professionally challenging and rewarding experience. The delivery of educational services to students with exceptional educational needs is rapidly changing, as increased numbers of students are being served through inclusive programs with general education students. Recognizing these trends, the special education curriculum is modified periodically to assure graduates are well prepared to teach students with special needs.
