Master of Science in Occupational Safety

The Master of Science program in OESH provides advanced academic work in occupational safety.  The curriculum is designed to develop an understanding of general and specific safety and health issues relevant to work processes and the risks they impose on employees, the public, and the environment. Students will develop skills in collecting, analyzing, and presenting information relevant to the physical, chemical, biological and psychological factors which affect safety, health and productivity.

Degree Requirements
Thirty-six credits of course work is required. This includes a practicum, successful completion of an oral defense of the thesis, or designated research paper and the successful completion of a comprehensive examination. At least half of the course work must be completed with courses numbered 700 or higher.

Three letters of recommendation supporting the candidate's ability to do graduate level work, a successful interview with the Department Admissions Committee.
