move to approve meeting Minutes of January 28th meeting. Passed on a voice
vote.

Reports
1. Curriculum-College
of Letters and Sciences Curriculum Committee met yesterday, February 3rd .with
Sahyun attending; when submitting new course proposal, we no longer need to use
asterisks. Catalog changes due to Elaine Wagner by March 9th. Course
syllabi information sheet distributed.AR change forms (Form 2) need to also be
completed for each course. All on-line L&S courses will be charged a $25.00
technology fee per credit.
2. Graduate
Council-no report
3. Library-everyone
has turned in their requests that are due to the library the end of
February. Benjamin will handle.
4. SPS
Deanıs Advisory Council representative selection has been made, Adam Kuhn is
the rep. Yerkes Observatory Trip discussed, also a Fermilab trip for Fall
discussed. Tutoring schedule is
currently being prepared for this semester which will include both physics and
astronomy tutoring.
5. Upham
renovation-Benjamin attended
meeting February 2nd at 2:15 p.m. Office Configuration discussed.
6. Webpage-syllabi
will be updated this weekend.
7. Sahyun
attended Disability Concerns Committee met today at 1:15; main discussion about
students in wheelchairs and problem if the elevator shuts down.
C. Announcements
from the Floor
1. Benjamin
gave an invited seminar at Northwestern University Dept. of Physics and
Astronomy called A Look at Glimpse.
IV. Old
Business
A. Self-study
and HEC review. Revisions due to
Rybski by Monday, February 7th.
B. World
Year of Physics Programming Considerations-one or two lectures in March and
April suggested. Only one lecture
planned so far for March4th will be ³Fire in the Sky-the Nature of Comets².
Benjamin will present an April lecture on the State of the Universe.
C. Physics
Curriculum Revisions-distributed in mailboxes, hang on for continuing
discussion. Anticipated implementation of this rotation is Fall 2008.
V. New
Business
A. Capital
Equipment Request-will be sent to everyone by email, everyone needs to prioritize
and send back to Rybski by Tuesday, February 8th.
B. Upham
Office Equipment/Laboratory Equipment Selections
