Curriculum-Sahyun reported on discussion with Biology and Chemistry on
Pre-requisite grades.

3. SPS- The fieldtrip for Sunday to Fermilab is cancelled and will be rescheduled.

- Sahyun reported on a new policy for Universal Design in building
construction.

A. Tenure-track
Assistant Professor advertisement: Position announcement circulated for
comments.
B. Course
rotation realignment postponed until October 15th.
C. Phase
2B space planning meeting held Wednesday, Sept. 28th. Rybski reports
that two seminar rooms which hold 32 people on the 2nd floor, Upham
234š can be used for introductory labs.
Astronomy labs to be held in Observatory during Phase 2B which can begin
as early as August 1st, 2005.
D. Colloquium/Outreach
Lecture schedule- Bob and Steve assigned to come up with a Colloquium/Outreach Lecture
schedule due October 15th.

A. Advising
for Spring 2005 (holds, course recommendations, assessment), registration
begins November 1st. When advising, encourage students to take upper
level Physics courses next semester, especially Physics 322. Engineering and
Industrial track students should be strongly encouraged to take the 330/331
series.
B. There
was discussion of having a Modeling workshop for Summer 2005.
C.
Summer school planning
for S2005 requests due to Dr. Rybski by Tuesday,
October
5th.
D. The
Physicsmajor-l-Listserv will be moderated by Benjamin.

II analysis-discussion postponed

Majors Handbook-discussion postponed

Schedule of review of
Benjamin, Constantinescu, DasGupta and Sahyun to be held in October. Benjamin scheduled for Oct. 18th
3:00 p.m., Sahyun scheduled for Oct. 21st at 5:00 p.m.,
Constantinescu and DasGupta date and time to be determined.
