You must have ready access to a computer that meets
the requirements below. It is HIGHLY recommended that you have
this computer at home, not just at work, as you will probably want to
work on course assignments at non peak hours of Internet use.
You must also be able to load software on the computer
you use as well as search the Internet in an unfiltered mode. Be aware
that if you use school facilities, you may have insurmountable problems
with firewalls and filters, access to facilities, and the ability to
load software.

CONNECTION
You need a high speed internet connection in order to handle the downloads and assignments for your courses. This requires DSL through your telephone company, satellite connection through your satellite TV, or high speed access through your TV cable connection. Although schools have fast connections, they often have rigid controls of applications software and filtering that excludes the kind of investigations and communications needed for course work.
Access to an Internet Service Provider from
home is essential as you are expected to be online for
an average of 8 hours per week for most classes
BROWSERS (in addition to those accompanying your machine)
