Becoming a school library media specialist
in Wisconsin has been a two stage process for about 20 years, and
continues as a multi-stage process. The intent is that those
repsonsible for school library programs have a master's degree in
library and information studies, or the equivalent.
902 Professional Instructional Library
Media Specialist
This second stage of the license build
on the knowledge, skills, dispositions, and professional experiences
acquired during three years of practice with the first stage of
the 902 license.
The Master License builds on the 902
and is attained through an extensive evaluation process.
