Department of
Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Coaching

We offer an undergraduate major in Physical Education with a choice of two emphases, and a graduate master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Health, Physical Education, and Coaching.

The undergraduate Physical Education K-12 major, as part of the College of Education, is one of few licensure programs in the state of Wisconsin, which received accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. It prepares students for careers in the schools teaching elementary and secondary physical education, health education, adaptive physical education, and/or coaching.

The undergraduate Health, Human Performance, and Recreation emphasis prepares students for careers in the private sector that include various leadership roles in fitness, wellness, recreation, outdoor education, and/or health promotion.
