Health
All three programs offered in health utilize holistic, integrate approaches for the development of effective teaching/facilitation skills, knowledge, and attitudes for disease prevention, health maintenance, and optimal mental/emotional, physical, and spiritual growth.
HEALTH PROMOTION MINOR: most often serves as a minor for
physical education (non-licensure Health, Human Performance
and Recreation), social work, psychology, and business students
who wish to work with lay and/or professional populations. The
minor DOES NOT meet requirements for teaching licensure
in health education.

HEALTH EDUCATION CERTIFICATE PROGRAM ( ADD-ON
LICENSURE PROGRAM ): Serves as the existing structure
for students wishing to acquire the Health Education add-on
licensure. A health minor is NOT declared for this program.
This program does not show up on an AR, however, a student
who successfully completes the program will receive a Health
Education Certificate from the Department of Health, Physical
Education, Recreation and Coaching. This certificate program
will be identified on a student's transcripts and will then qualify
the student for recommendation to the Wisconsin Department
of Instruction for licensure in health education.
