Teaching Philosophy: I believe that students learn best by hearing about realistic situations that they will encounter in the counseling field and then applying the practical approaches that they have learned. Experience is preferential over mere theoretical book knowledge. Learning is an ongoing experience for all clinicians and one that especially necessitates collaboration and dialogue between colleagues. My approach is to facilitate that dialogue in the classroom, so that everyone benefits from that learning experience.
