Teachers and students have seemed to enjoy these activities, and it has helped foster a greater sense of community. Celebrating the African-Caribbean dance performance, and the dancers did a great job in acknowledging the African influence in Latino culture as well as all cultures here in the U.S.
What didn’t work? What were the obstacles?
Lunchroom integration was a challenge and did not work as well as planned. It was hard to get the students to interact with each other and eat their lunch in 20 minutes. Having a tight schedule made it a challenge, and we are looking to find a more efficient way to implement this. |
