WHAT
IS A HERO
A
hero is defined as a man admired for his achievements and noble
qualities and considered a
model or ideal. What does it mean to be heroic? Heroic is defined
as supremely noble,
altruistic(unselfish), or self-sacrificing (a good deed, for example).
Think about the tragic events
of September 11, 2001. Emerging from these terrible events were
many heroes. For example,
firefighters, policemen, and emergency workers all came together
to save life at the
risk of their own lives. What do you think a hero is and what do
you think of as a heroic, “good
deed”? In this webquest assignment, you will be thinking about
what a hero can be.
