Introduction

You are now beginning your journey through the life of a Rock here on earth. It's going to be dangerous and a little crazy, but if you stay focused and complete this adventure you just might be able to conquer the mission at the end!

Task

You will explore and absorb information through two adventures. At the end of each adventure you must complete a quiz successfully to finish your mission. First we are going to introduce you to exactly what three rocks are in the rock cycle. After your missions are finished be prepared to create a project showing what you have learned. Be sure to click on the Back button on the top left corner of your screen until you come back to this rock and roll adventure when you are finished researching the different rocks.

Evaluation

Now that you have learned about the different kinds of rocks and about the rock cycle you should be prepared to do a project. Show what you have learned about the different kinds of rocks or the rock cycle by creating a project.You can display this by making a poster, video, model, song, poem, cartoon, illustrated story, etc. Your teacher will give you the due date for this assignment. This project will be worth 50 points and the distribution of points is below.

Conclusion

Congratulations on finishing your rock n' roll adventures! Sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks are the different components of the rock cycle. Each type of rock possesses their own physical properties. At different times in a rock's life it becomes a sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rock. The rock cycle is much more complex than what you read about, so feel free to rock and roll with more websites during your own time.
