Federico Garcia Lorca was born on June 5th, 1898 at Fuente Vaquaros near Granada in Spain (click here to see if you can find Granada on the map). His first book was published in 1918 when he was only 20 years old! When he was executed in 1936, he left a legacy of poetry and plays whose beauty have not been surpassed this century.
