Faculty
All faculty members in the Marketing Department hold doctoral degrees
and academic staff members have at least MBA's. No teaching assistants
teach classes. Faculty and staff are committed to teaching, but
they are also involved in research and business consulting activities.
Each year, UW-Whitewater College of Business and Economics presents
a research award. The Marketing Department has earned this award
more frequently than any other department. Alumni from the college
have voted Dr. Marilyn Lavin as the professor who had the greatest
influence on their lives. Dr. G.M. Naidu and Dr. Jimmy Peltier have
won the University Research Award. Dr. Peltier also won the 2001
Clarke Outstanding Educator Award from the Direct Marketing Educational
Foundation. Dr. Lois Smith has won the College Service Award.
Faculty in the Marketing Department have a number of areas of specialization,
including sales, international marketing, promotions, research,
direct and Internet marketing, database marketing, product innovation,
bi-lingual communications, service and retailing.
