Research:
Professor Eiswerth's major field of research is environmental and natural resource economics. Recent research areas include the economics of water quality, water resources and interbasin water transfers; biodiversity; optimal management of nonnative species; public lands and rangelands; regional economics and the estimation of regional economic impacts; human health impacts of air pollution; and interactions between wildlife, agricultural systems, human uses and ecological landscapes. He has published the results of his research in journals such as Environmental and Resource Economics, Land Economics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Water Resources Research, Energy Policy, and Ecological Economics.
Broadly speaking, much of Dr. Eiswerth's research has essentially revolved around identifying economically optimal or efficient management approaches, evaluating the performance of public or private programs and strategies, and determining the costs and benefits of legislation, programs, and regulations.
