Departmental News

Below, we highlight some recent departmental news:

  • We are pleased to welcome three new faces to the department:
    • The first is Dr. Nancy Tao who joins us as an assistant professor from Claremont Graduate University in California. Dr Tao's fields of experise are in Industrial Organization, Financial Markets and Banking.
    • In addition, we have two new lecturers: Dr. Massomeh Hajilee from UW - Milwaukee and Kristen Roche also from UW- Milwaukee.

  • Professor Mark Eiswerth will be taking a leave of absence this year.
  • The department has just completed it's move to Hyland Hall

  • The department is running a search for a tenure-track position. Professors Russ Kashian and Jeff Heinrich will be traveling to San Franciso this January to interview potential candidates for the position at the big American Economics Association Conference, prior to selecting a shortlist of candidates to fly out. We look forward to meeting our future colleague.

  • The department is pleased to announce the following departmental scholarship recipients. We wish to congratulate:
    • Robert Shepard for the John R. Dominguez Scholarhip
    • Kyle Halweg for the Jerome Laurent Scholarhip
    • Matthew Le Donne for the James Hellie Scholarship
    • In addition, Mitch Grulke and Craig Much received departmental scholarships
