Welcome to the UW-W Graphic Design Program information resource. This section of the Art Department web site has been arranged to provide current or potential students with up to date information on our curriculum, faculty profiles and features examples of the great work our students produce as they move through art and graphic design course work. Our goal is to provide undergraduate students with a full range of conceptual and technical Art and Design skills while instilling a sense of purpose where personal expression and professional growth can result in solid portfolio development and career fulfillment.

A Graphic Design program is about applying the principles of visual perception to the practice of visual communications. Our program integrates study in the Fine arts with classes in Applied Design, Illustration, Web Design, Digital Photography, Multimedia Design from Still Image Production through Interactive Media and Digital Video/Motion Graphics Design.

The next section "major track" outlines our various programs and provides easily downloadable files for printing. The faculty of the Graphic Design area welcome and invite you to also review the course area descriptions and to explore some our student work. We are very proud of our students accomplishments and we hope you enjoy your visit. Each of our faculty are Academic Advisors. If you have questions please feel free to contact a Graphic Design Area Professor in your area of interest or if you are already a UW-W student contact your assigned advisor directly.

Click here to view a student showcase quicktime movie. This motion graphics work by one of our students explores our Graphic Design curriculum history from "where we were" to "where we are' and envisions "our future". You will need quicktime to view this and other videos in the student work section.
