Student Organizations
AMA
(American Marketing Association)
The University of Wisconsin Whitewater collegiate American Marketing
Association Chapter is the largest student organization on campus.
The AMA seeks to urge and assist the personal and professional development
of our members at all levels. This is achieved through a variety
of activities that bring together students, faculty, alumni, and
marketing professionals in both formal and casual settings. AMA
members are offered a variety of professional development opportunities,
have the opportunity to participate in social activities, and actively
contribute to the Whitewater campus and community.
Pi Sigma Epsilon
Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) is the only national, professional fraternity
in marketing, sales management, and selling. PSE goals are to develop
practical sales and marketing skills through active involvement
of its members in sales and marketing projects, marketing research,
professional programs, community service, and social events. The
UWW PSE Chapter has won the national Top Chapter Award numerous
times, most recently in 2001.
PSE can benefit members through:
- Meeting lifelong friends and business contacts
- Networking with Sales & Marketing Executives in Milwaukee
and Madison by attending their dinner meetings
- Competing in regional and national awards programs
- Enhancing resumes by leading events such as Midnight Madness,
the event marking the beginning of the basketball season
- Gaining leadership skills while supporting nonprofit organizations
through events such as an annual bike race (Pedal for Proceeds)
or the Paddle-Boat-a-Thon
- Winning scholarships
Mu Kappa Tau
Mu Kappa Tau is a national marketing honorary society. Mu Kappa
Tau invites students who have achieved academic excellence and have
made significant contributions to marketing education or the marketing
profession. Mu Kappa Tau members must have an overall cumulative
grade point average of at least 3.25 on a 4.00 scale. Juniors ranking
in the top 10% of their class and seniors and graduate students
ranking in the top 20% of their classes may be invited to membership.
To be eligible, graduate students must have completed at least 50%
of their MBA requirements. Mu Kappa Tau members are acknowledged
academic leaders among their peers. The organization provides national
networking and scholarship opportunities. MKT holds its national
convention in conjunction with Pi Sigma Epsilon, another marketing
student organization. MKT also distributes a resume book nationally.
Honors and Awards
Students organizations, Pi Sigma Epsilon and the American
Marketing Association, have repeatedly won the Best National Chapter
Awards. Both won in 2001, a feat never before accomplished by any
